I, Louie Nappi, like most of you have a full time job and work in the largest port in the World. My position is a Supervisory clerk, and this is what enables me to purchase the caliber of dogs that I do.

With each litter the temperament of the puppies differ. It is important that breeders know how to assess and place the right puppy in the right home. If this does not occur the ramifications could be lethal. My extensive background in decoying for schutzhund clubs and police dogs is what enables me to ensure that each puppy has the correct temperament for the right home.

Socialization of puppies is imperative in establishing correct stable temperaments.

All of my puppies are whelped at home and are exposed to my three childeren from the

moment they are born.


Picture three kids and the kind of interacting that takes place.
Hence by the time they are 8 weeks old,
the puppies are already used to riding in a car, recieving a bath, and having different types and ages of people interact with them.

Long before a puppy goes to it's new home I have evaluated where that puppy is in the 'pecking order ' of the pack. Being able to read an animal's behavior is the key to placing the right dog in the right home and also training dogs for every type of need.

I would like to take a minute and explain a little bit about the "Pecking Order" of dogs. All dogs are social or 'pack' animals and are therefore born either Alpha, Beta, or Gamma. All dogs look upon you and other members of your household as members of their pack. Regardless of the order in which they were born, they can only assume the role that you allow them to assume. For example, if a male is born Alpha you must become Alpha (1), the true 'leader' of the 'pack' and he must become Alpha (2), the 2nd in charge over the other dogs in the 'pack', while always submitting to you.

Do not let breeders tell you that you cannot take your puppy out because of contacting the parvovirus. This is an excuse used by most not to do the foot work that is required. It takes alot of hard work to raise a litter properly, but the rewards are great in knowing that you have done everything in your power to preserve this wonderful breed.

A Rottweiler in Germany MUST have a (ZTP) in order to be deemed breedable. Under the A.D.R.K. rules the breed warden must witness the breeding. Both dogs must have their (ZTP). What is a ZTP? Breed suitability test or BST in America. The dogs must be correct to the German standard.
A Rottweiler must possess

correct conformation bite detention mouth pigment color coat structure hips and most important of all "temperament".

Puppies need to start out with all of the correct characteristics to obtain breeding privileges as adults

This is the most loyal breed of dog that exists, but because of the lack of knowledge & inferior standards in this country, this breed has been diminished to a very watered down version of the breed. I maintain the highest German standards, preserving the old fashion (Mutzerhund) Butcher's Dog. I take the ZIP very seriously. You too should be very concerned with the ZTP.

..has any neurological problems that would impair his/her motor skills from operating properly
..or if your dog does not receive an O.F.A. rating of excellent, good, or fair
